Inspired by the classical Hatha/Raja Yoga lineage of Sri Dharma Mittra, and the integrating practices of MindBody Centering Yoga, this class offers a 'complete' yoga practice. Our intention is to share the inspiration of grace with beautiful music and the ongoing action of presence for the entire clan…with no commercial breaks. :)
The richness of this class is rooted in the steadiness of the ‘8-limbs’ of yoga, which will be pointed to as we explore mantra, Pranayama (breathing exercises) and the many levels of Asana (physical postures). There are several rounds of a natural form of Surya Namaskara (sun salutations). Familiar postures (such as warriors & balancing) will be offered with different optional variations so everyone can practice at their own level. We will cover inversions, including ways to practice these powerful postures even as a novice yogi. Class ends with deep rest. Be Peace.
