The Transforming Trauma (TT) series was created by yoga therapist nina be who is a certified mental health therapist with a specialization in somatic embodiment. Nina feels that it is critical to empower everyone to break through stigmas around mental health in order to be present for one's Self and heal discomfort in the world.
Under the MindBody Centering Yoga umbrella, we currently offer a seasonal series of TT groups.
We encourage everyone to attend as many sessions as possible in order to most deeply benefit from the cumulative effects of focused attention.
During these weeks together we learn well researched practices of mind-body meditations that have proven to be most effective is transforming trauma. The range of descriptions for 'trauma' are:: depression, stress, anxiety, insomnia, discomfort with food, relationships, job, driving. Indicators of Trauma can be numbness, having trouble get out of bed, waking up too early, not having emotions, overwhelm feeling unseen.
Each week we get stronger and clearer physically, mentally, emotionally & energetically with::
simple stretching and restorative yoga
focused attention to build mental clarity
coming into the present moment as embodiment and feeling the body
understanding the qualities of real loving kindness
discussion about how nutrition creates happiness and energy
to grow positive self talk creative writing
home practice to not lose a sense of calm.
Self care & discussion on practical tips for effective change help target stagnant physical and mental tendencies that block our energy and inspiration. Specific techniques that break up our negative beliefs & self talk are discovered by discussing, sharing and working with releasing aspects of the habits that keep us stuck.
